Ramin Habibi

Mr. Habibi is the Managing Director and founder of Rating Developments Ltd. Prior to setting up the firm, he was the President of Thomson BankWatch-BREE, the regional operation of BankWatch covering banks in Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Southern and Eastern Africa. Before establishing BREE, he was the Chief Analyst of Capital Intelligence, rating banks in the Middle East and East Asia.

He started his banking career with Bank of America in its Middle East Area Office in London, mainly working on correspondent banking relationships. He later moved to BofA’s Karachi branch, with responsibility for Pakistani bank credit lines, some corporate relationships, and as the credit assistant to the Country Manager.

As the doyen of bank rating analysts covering Eastern Europe—and previously the most prominent analyst covering Middle East banks—he has made numerous presentations to banking conferences and seminars.

His university degrees comprise an MBA from Manchester Business School and a BSc in Combined Sciences from the University of Leicester.
